So if you are looking for general keto diet info, a comparison of the nutritional pros and cons of each product, any of that, that's not what these reviews are about - although I plan to blog about that in the future. All of these products have similar nutritional specs re: amounts of sugar (low), protein (high) carbs (low) - all within a gram or two per serving. While I have learned a lot in researching and implementing a Keto diet, this review is not about the Keto merits of these products. Now is a good time for this IMPORTANT MESSAGE: This is a review of how these products taste. I decided to try all the market leaders, and share my thoughts in this blog. I decided to look into their products, and as usually happens when you go online, found that there are many brands of Keto friendly breakfast cereals making similar claims. Keto friendly is certainly part of it, but they are pushing the healthy but delicious angle more than the Keto part. Their sales pitch is basically "a healthy version of the cereal you ate as a kid". I heard about Keto cereals (specifically Magic Spoon) on podcasts - they advertise on LOTS of podcasts. When that's done, I want to spend some time with my kids, walk the dog, get some exercise, anything but spending too much time worrying about what is in my next meal. I'm working from home, and sometimes I just want to grab a bite to eat without spending a lot of time thinking about it and get back to making money. Diets are work, and when it comes to eating, I don't always want to put in a lot of effort. Keto diets are very popular, and although giving up most sugar and carbs is very difficult, a lot of what you CAN eat on Keto appeals to me. Being a father and working from home over the pandemic, and with takeaway food being only a few clicks on the phone away from my door, my age, metabolism and lack of impulse control led me to start thinking about a more sustainable approach to healthy eating. I'm not particularly fussy or picky, don't have any food allergies, and have basically gone through life eating whatever I wanted (in other words, whatever tastes good.) When this would inevitably lead to weight gain, I would diet, lose the weight, and start the cycle again. I love to eat, but I am not particularly smart about what I eat. Why am I reviewing Keto Friendly Cereals?
